Default deck lid on vert

92 vert. I raised the deck lid and put the top down to wax it. Got done and went to put top back up and deck lid will not release on drivers side. Passenger side releases. Any help in how to get drivers side to
release would be greatly apprecieated? As usual I know some one here
will have the answer. Thanks in advance.

First, to get it open, go to that side, use the door release (or have a friend help) and press down on the side above the latch. Sometimes, even usually, I press in the middle of the lid to get mine to release, and I prefer a tight fit. There are adjustments at both the latch and the receiver. And make sure you use some silicone on the mechanism to operate smoothly.

Hmmmm. Have you:
1. tried door and lid release switches, each - do you hear it clunk
2. reached under the edge of the lid to make sure nothing is hooked and holding it down
3. looked under that edge at the latch itself
4. is the carpet piece that covers the latch stuck in it
5. is anything else stuck in it

There isn't that much to the system, if it is hanging up something is stuck or the release or latch broken.

on my 95 it did the same thing and on each side there are manual latches if you look real close, might have to use a flashlight. I used a really long srew driver to push the latch and it popped right open. the 92 may not have it

Seemed to me that I could see the cable going to the latch by looking under the deck lid. Might be able to pull on it and release the latch.

Make sure the car is not in a twisted position, could make it stick on one side or the other. Mine has done that before.

EDIT: I wish they had a release button on both sides to make it easier if you have to go to the other side of the car.

thanks everybody. went ot mechanic this am and using lights and mirrors, he found a piece of carpet that had come loose and jammed in the latch. I looked myself, but just didn't see it. All is well and I am looking forward to a nice 3 day road trip. Thanks again.
