Well, after 6 months of making excuses, I finally decided to put the headers in my '91. I'm putting in Hedman Elite's which ARE ceramic coated by the way (so we can put that issue to bed!). I just finished the drivers side last night and can't figure out what to do with the alternator bracket. Does anyone have any experience with this problem...if so, what did you do?
The passenger side doesn't look like it's going to be any picnic, but fortunately it's not my daily driver, so I'm not in a hurry to get it done. I know the A/C bracket needs to be modified as well but they show you what to do on Hedmans website.
ps... got the car up on jackstands, pulled the y-pipe, removed the drivers side manifold and got the header in in just over two hours, not bad for an old guy, huh?
I thought that little tube was usless. As soon as I tightened the header bolt, the tube would kink. So I modified the brackets to fit flush against the header flange and welded the outside bracket to the inside bracket.
