Is it normal for your headlights to run for a few seconds after you turn them off, it even does this if just the parking lights are turned on then off??
Deffinatley bad bushings, Mine did the same thing after i shut the lights off the motor would run for a few seconds. I just put a set in my vette, not really a hard job, but do yourself a favor, pay attention to were everything goes, and have plenty of PB blaster.
Yeah the disc/shaft that rotates the assemblies is turned by the driven gear has 3 half round keyways in it that have a round bushing each and fit into 3 half round keyways on the driven gear, if the bushings are rooted they slip, and the motor keeps turning after the lights are shut, even if the park lights are on, when you shut them off, the headlight doors get the signal to shut even if they are allready shut, in which case the bushings allow the slip between the disc/shaft and the driven gear.
Change the headlight motor bushings. Order them online from Mid-America Motorworks (MAM) or Eckler's Corvette parts. Read the TechTips section on this Forum for the how-to-repair headlights articles.
