Hypertech sent me a new chip for the unit when it wouldn't work with my 97 model which luckily came with LT1 and LT4 programming and was compatible with my C4s... It didn't make one bit of difference but I keep it around so I can read and clear codes when any come up and I can use the data logging function (I bought it with the Power Scan cartrige)...
The only programming I use is the fan temperature... I set it to 160F stat even though I have the stock 180 thermo and it keeps the fans on pretty much all the time when it reaches operating temp and I'm below 40 mph... The temp gauge barely fluctuates at all, staying right at 197F on the digital readout... If it wasn't for the Power Scan cartrige features I'd have dumped the HPP+ a long time ago...
