I have owned a lot of performance cars in my time, an 88 IROC convertible, a 1990 300 ZX Twin Turbo, and 1996 BMW 328IC, and s 1999 Mustang GT convertible. None of them (except the ZX) came close to my 1996 LT1 Vette.
I picked the car up about a month ago in Modesto, CA and I drove it up the coast line. I could not believe how well it handled through the windy roads, and the torque is something else. This car is so refined and even though its 11 years old, its performance features still rivals the best of todays sports cars. It really blew me away.
I wondered for months choosing between an 1987 Grand National and my newly purchased Vette. My buddy Mike told me during the trip "Marko, the Corvette is the Ultimate American Driving Experience, everything is downhill from there."
Although I am now in the hunt for an affordable 87 GN,my first love is this Vette. The C4 is simply an awesome car and I intend to own it for a loooooong time..........

You're preachin' to the choir. I grew up in the classic musclecar era, I've drag raced, oval tracked raced and etc. But nothing like my (now) modified '95 has ever gotten my blood running for sheer driving enjoyment. It's like having a *****-out race car again, except I can drive it anywhere, anytime.

There is a reason they sold so many C4's! And not just because the model run was so long. In 1984 the car was Wayyyyyy ahead of its time. They refined it every year up until the end.
Hear ya there, loud 'n clear! Fastest car I had before my C4 was a 1985 Z28 (with a 300+ HP GM crate 350), and I absolutely pounded an early 90's twin turbo Z yesterday, too! How about some pics?
