What are the general thoughts about ground effects kits on C4's.
My personal opinion is that it takes away from the characteristics
that sets vette's apart from the rest
The full kit is just too much for me and it turns the vette into
something I'd expect from a Japanese after market shop, with
all the bulging attributes.
Now I know that there will be people who'll dissagree with me
and I'll be the first to admit that I've seen some fine examples
of C4's with the kit, but for me, in my mind, it turns them into a
custom car not a vette.
Here we go again, When I bought my Vette a Greenwood kit was already on the car. It is a full kit and on my car it looks great. I know many members hate them and thats O.K. A Vette looks great without a kit as well. So be it, some people like Vanilla and some like Chocolate. This debate will never end. Allentown Ernie.

The biggest problem with this poll is no kit is specified. There are different kinds of kits and some look better than others.
My opinion (though I'm not voting), is that the F40 shape (curved in belly) of the C4 is one of the areas where you shouldn't mess around too much. The car's general shape is much straighter than the C3 and possibly the C5/6 (depending on your persective). Also, I think of the C4 as a smoother version of the C3. The hallmarks of the C3 are the wheel flares and thin belly. That said....
The front spoiler begs for something to balance it rearward and that means putting something underneath. That's why I picked sidepipes, a hood-change, and a wing. Compared to a Greenwood kit, mine looks less "flat-sided" though. That's the biggest reason for my choice. Toledo Pro also makes a kit that leave more of the belly curves. I like it too. But...
Now that I've made that change and spent several years looking at kits, my advise is to put 315's on the rear (for visual balance) and leave the rest as-is. Don't mess with a kit. But, maybe you REALLY WANT A CHANGE. IF SO.....
If you are a good glasser or know one, consider raising the center section of the hood 1/2" to 1". Sidepipes are still way cool..... But, keep the changes subtle. Also... consider a bumper change.

That’s where you’re wrong, it’s the characteristics of the body kits that sets most vettes apart from each other. The worst thing ever for me is to park, pull up next to, be at the same show with the same vette, and whether people look at it and hate and least they will say it’s different. Sorry guys, but the more I can set myself apart from you and the everyday vettes, the better.
Absolutely love them if they are done right. I have one, and at shows and events, my car really stands out. Yesterday I had a bunch of people looking at mine while at a rally and a ton taking pics in order to maybe do the same to theirs. It's whatever you really like that matters. I also like a real clean car with no effects.
