Wierd symptoms.........
I'm feeling a slight backup it seems under the car when I stop or get close to coming to a complete stop and then lightly accelerate again almost like the fuel is a little sluggish to pump. Doesn't happen all the time, but more than not. I had this problem about two years ago and when I replaced the fuel filter, it went away. My previous mechanic told me to change the fuel filter twice a year roughly every 6 months or so with the variation in seasons and the crap in fuel deposits from deposit tankers at the stations these days. It sounds reasonable so I think this may be the problem as the fuel pump may have to work extra hard if the filter gets restricted by anything, primarily deposits. I'm guessing that's what I'm hearing, I just wanted to get anyone else's take up here since I just read in my Chiltons manual that there is no technical "timed" interval for changing the fuel filter according to the book. The book does specify this only under the years 93-96, but it doesn't technically exclude my year since it doesn't word it "ONLY" for 93-96. In addition, the book tells me I should clean out my fuel tank if I find a restriction which seems like a lot more work than necessary to me even though it wouldn't hurt if I had the time. BTW: the last time I changed the fuel filter was somewhere around august of last year I believe, so I'm probably gonna get it done again tomorrow. Anyone else experience these symptoms with another problem?
Just FYI: My stepdad not too long ago, blew his whole engine in his Z28 allegedly due to a fouled fuel filter that was clogged after neglecting it for over a year(probably longer).

That's a good point. I was adding fuel conditioners every tank to occasionally every other tank until the recent few times I filled her up when the symptoms started. I just didnt think Id' notice a change that quick. The fuel is getting crappier and crappier out here or more and more places are harboring a55holes who are watering it down especially with the price hikes.
