I just bought a 93 Vette and I am having problems with a few things and being only 23 and new to a Corvettes makeup(but rapidly becoming an enthusiast) I need some advice.
--RPM light is stayin off and coming on only occasionally
--MPH sticks occasionally and the light behind it goes from bright to dim light
--ABS light comes on occasionally...How much to fix???
--Sterring wheel loose...not while driving but just loose at the neck or column
Thanks and I am listening for any and all help

Its just the light that lights up my rpm gauge that stays off. So its something do do with my speedometer and tach cluster...I suppose???
Thanks for the reply.... Do you have any suggestions???
*The first thing you should always do is pull codes to find out if the computer found any errors.*
I've never had to mess with the instrument cluster myself, so I won't be of much help there. However, if you're having issues with the cluster it could just be a bad or loose connection, or you could be having CCM/ECM issues. There's also a trip monitor photo cell that senses light, and adjusts cluster dimming accordingly. I think your issues could also possibly be a bad ground. Perhaps other members who have had similar clusters issues will chime in.
Also, Is what you're getting on the information center a "Service ABS" error? Are you also getting any kind of "Service ASR" error?
Thanks for the input and insight. I have thought of taking it to my local chevy dealership but I know that will be costly and would like to check out repairable things before that is done. I would like to check the ground issue if I knew where it was grounded. Where is the trip moniter photo cell located?..On the dash???
In response to the ARS---I am not getting an ARS error message and the ABS light will come on however it does not stay on at all times. It also doesn't come on but every few times I drive it. Could it be a bad ABS sensor?
There are 4 lamps that back light the dash cluster and they are bi-pin quartz halogen lamps that plug into a socket that rotate 90 degrees into the rear of the rear circuit board (2 boards in the cluster). Most likely the sockets are no longer making good connection to the circuit board, caused by lamp heat. The cluster needs to be removed, the boards removed and the sockets and circuit board pads cleaned to make reliable connection again. Info available at www.batee.com
