89 Rear end.

Default 89 Rear end.

How big a job is it to change the U joints in an 89 automatic transmission car? Can a local garage handle this job or should I take it to a dearler? Thanks for the help.

A local shop should have no problem changing them.

It's not too difficult, I've done them myself on my 87.

Its pretty easy, as long as they have a hoist (preferably a 2 post) a press, a decent range of hand tools, and some common sense, they will be able to do it **** easy.

If they remove the lower rear arms at the diff end, make sure they know to remove the bracket and not move the cam bolt that holds the lower arm to the bracket, cause youll need an alignment again otherwize.
