Default Florida Trip + Fix list

All,
We're finally back, thank God.

Over 1100 miles in a few days and the Corvette ran well.

Items to fix and I'll do a search later on before I post questions.

1. Drivers seat adjustment. Move forward, ugly sound.
Move backward, same ugly sound and no travel either way.

The only way to move the seat for my wife to drive was to push it into place by hand while pushing the button.

I think I've stripped something.

2. Hose on A/C was leaking just out of the compressor and onto the frame. That's beyond my repair skill.

3. Broken front splash guard. Corvette Central and $49.99 and a little time to replace.

Other than that, no other problems.

This is my first long trip with the Corvette and I feel good about it.

As stated earlier, over 25 mpg!

I'm happy!

Great, thanks for spending money on our economy down here. Where did you visit in FL.

When you were moving your seat back, did you push up against any luggage or anything else in the "trunk" ?? That may have caused a restriction and then a gear strip.

Sorry about the thread jacking. On fix it list I would double and triple check fluids, brake lines for worn or cut areas, check pads and maybe take rotors to get checked to make sure they are still true (last one is a little extreme) if the battery is old think about replacing it, check all colant hoses and clamps and you MAY want to through a spare optispark in the rear

I'm currently battling the driver's seat adjustment as well.

Search "buzzing" for my thread.

Seat and the adjuster track are easier than I thought to R/R.

4 bolts or nuts each and they're out of the car.

OOPS!!!!

I see you've already been there!

Luck to ya!

Screw the miles, you missed a great road trip.

Glad to hear she did well and that you're home safely. I've got a friend that has a brand new front air dam complete but no longer has a C4. Let me know if you want it and I'll see what I can get it for you for.

Seagrove Beach. It was beautiful!

I checked the seat front, back and underneath for obstructions, none found.
This morning, after the seat was put back to "home" position (where I like it to be, not for my wife to drive) it WORKS!?!

I'll do more research on this and post what I find later.

Here's the link to my original post. Sorry for all the confusion, I should have posted this earlier.

Ewww... the seat gears are stripped. Best bet is to just get it in position and leave it there. Those are NOT cheap to replace (since you can't really fix them)

Road trips are fun with the Corvette. Ive done many 1000 miles trips in mine before it got too unreliable to drive anymore. Its almost back to reliable status again. just a few more items, and I want to take it out of state again

Thanks Guys.

It was a fun trip.

I've found a new thing to fix.

Seems like there's always something to make it "perfect".

Oh well, it is after all a passion......

Thanks Kid, but I'm talking about an aftermarket piece behind the d/s front tire.

Sorry for the confusion.
