Default Door glass alignment

Good day Guys.

I'm usualy over in the C2 section, but now need some info from the latter model guys.

I'm in need of some information to help out a mate of mine who has a 1988 C4.

His door glass on both sides don't align to the roof weatherstrip, you can grab the the glass when its half way up and it moves up and down in the door.

I assume that there are door rollers that give trouble and guides that wear.
I don't want to pull his doors apart untill I have more info on what is needed to help him out.

Can anyone post a picture or a workshop manual pic of whats in the door?
Also can you tell me any helpfull hints and were or who has the parts required to fix his door problem?

Thanks Guys.
Have a great weekend .
Leigh

To adjust the glass, you need to remove the door panel and there should be several bolts holding the glass to the plastic. Loosen these bolts and just move the glass where you want it. Zak.

It's a small PDF file so you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Very well done article.

Thanks for the reply.

My mates car has the problem of when it is in the up position the glass is higher at the rear of the door and is wearing into the weatherstrip and has wind noise as you drive along.
If anyone has more info on what has caused this to happen, it would be great

Thanks Leigh
