put in new water pump hoses and flushed but still running hot. It seems like fans kick on but after about 220 & 240 and dosen't cool down as long as I'm sitting still. I got an infered therometer and it reads 240 when gauge reads 250-260. I'm looking into a new radiator and lower fan temp switches. Any input?

new thermostat after flush? When it gets to 240 ish are both fans on?
Have you removed the shroud to get rid of the debris that gets caught between the rad and condensor, then spray out the rad itself, (quite a bit of crap gets caught up in there). Aside from that the radiator might be trashed I believe stock are relatively inexpensive. I would either re-set fan enable/disable temps in the "chip" or a fan switch. With everything right in the system and after I have re-set temps in the chip, on a 98* day mine will only get as high as 194*, driving 184-189*.
I did put in a 160 thermostat works great as long as temp dosen't get above 70-75 after that is when it starts running hot. I did clean out between the rad & ac coils but didn,t spray the rad. I'll give it a try.
I replaced the Cooling Fans on my 1990 several months ago and it really made a difference. The ones that were on it were the originals and they were 17 years old. The bearings were worn out and sloppy which keeps them from turning as fast as they were designed for. Since replacing them, mine has not offered to overheat since. I purchsed both fans from my local dealer and they were around $80 each and pretty simple to replace. In the whole scheme of things, 2 fans are alot cheaper than an engine!
