Which top costs more?
I had a tree branch fall into my glass top yesterday...my question is...which top is more expensive? I would like a hardtop and assume they cost more..but what kind of price difference is there. I have no deductable on my comprehensive..so ill just be paying the difference if i get a hardtop. What do both of them run from say...GM? Im assuming that is who a body shop would order it from.

I had a cracked glass top and my insurane bought me a new one from GM. Ready for this? Sit down......
$1250 for a new glass top. My out of pocket cost was $0 because of MA state law when it comes to glass coverage on comprehensive.

I priced both of them from GM and they were both within 25 buck of each other... I personally prefer the solid top over the glass one thou... car seems more ridge.

If you can get your insurance company to cut you a check for a NEW top. You should be able to get both USED off of E-bay and you might have a little left over! :yesnod:
