Tire Question

I have a "94 with Kuhmo Ecsta MX's, 285/40ZR17 on the rear. Seems I picked up a nail in the drivers side rear. Can these tires be fixed, just like any other, or are they now trash!!!! They are not run flats.

Inside patch plug combo as long as it's not in the sidewall and you have enough tread left to justify it. Keep it under 100 mph after that. A good tire man will tell you...

.......CAN be patched as long as it isn't any closer then 1'' from the sidewall or in th esidewall itself....

Thanks. The nail is almost dead center in the tire. Tires only have about 5K miles on them. Looks like it's off the the garage........

what happens if it is within 1" from the side wall ??

I just had one patched-plugged about 1" from the sidewall, but the tire would not balance correctly.
