Default window tint

What is a safe and effective way to remove window tint from inside the side windows of my 89 coupe?

I remove purple tint from my previous 85 by using razor blades and adhesive remover. It was time consuming, but worked. Another option would be to take it to a professional tint installer and let them remove it for a price. I'm sure there are other way to remove tint.

pull it off and then go at the left over adhesive with a rag with MEK on it. Cuts right through it!

oh yea. Well for side windows it works great. With the back window, I would just pay someone. I would NOT want to mess with that!

Amonia and some black garbage bags. Split a black garbage open then spray the amonia on the tint on one window. Cover the amonia with the bag with the car in the sun. The bag is to keep the amonia from drying out. After about 5 or 10 minutes on a hot sunny day the tint AND GLUE will peel right off. Even on the rear hatch without any damage to the defroster wires.

MEK, methyl ethel ketone. Used as a solvent and a thinner for use with epoxy systems and fiberglass. Highly volatle, rapid evaporation, toxic, a most unique aroma. Use only in well ventalated areas. NO smoking, open flame/sparks or ka-boom or a nice fire in the back of yer vette.

Available at most any hardware store.

I've also heard to use one of those hand held steamers like for getting the wrinkles out of clothes.
Never tried but sounds good.
