Default interior lamp ???

Hello guys...
In my 86 coupe there is above the driver's seat, in the plastic interior cover, between the rooftop and the rear window, some kind of a light. ( I Think) . What is this for thing and what does it do ? It is covered with louvres and I can see something in it but I think that it is not a light.

Help me with this.....

Behind the louvers is the cockpit air temperature sensor. :) Do you have the C68 electronic HVAC system? If so, it monitors this sensor compared to what you have the temp set it, and alters its heat/cooling & fan speed appropriately. :)

No problem. That is why you'll notice that if you open your driver's window for a breeze, the fan speed will increase to try and compensate as the coolor (or warmer) air from outside gets fed into that duct.
