Yep, a couple of months not counting paint shop time. Lots of late nights and weekends. Had some helpers (wife, 4yr old daughter, and 6yr old son). My kids really like to help shine her up. I think they have found respect for the vette at an early age. They always ask me if I'm going to take them to school in the vette. And yes it has definately been a labor of love.

My Son (14) and I just finished painting my 86 last week, I know how you feel when you start to see it all come together, unfortunately for me we didnt have the camera to take any photos. My son is really having a great time working on the car, it has been worth every penny and painstaking effort to have this time together, only 2 more years until he's going to want the keys to MY CAR!
Great job!

I left the painting to a professional. A friend of mine owns a paint shop. I can tell you that it is all about the prep, lots of sanding.
Ok how about on the prep.. That is all I plan to do.
I have done some cars several years ago... but i forgot, also were you nervous about hitting the fiber glass ?
And i notice you did all that sanding with your int exposed ????
Sweet lookin ride man. I hope I can finish my project. Sometimes I sit and look at it and think man i'm in over my head I should have never bought this thing and looked for somethin that needs less work. Pipe
