HELP!!! Idle problem
I am having a problem with Idle.
If I gently race the engine with my foot when it settles back down and races up then drops, up then drops , up then drops. The idle fluctuates by a few 100 RPMs.
Have you removed and cleaned your throttle body (TB) and idle air control (IAC) motor pintle? If that doesn't fix it, check for vacuum leaks.
Read the C4 Tech Tips Section on this forum for the TB article. It'll walk you right through it. Really mellows your base idle and improves throttle response, too.

Most times it is the IAC that gets dirty over time.
its a valve that looks like an arrow with a spring around it. Lower throttle body, need a 1 1/4 socket or wrench to unscrew it. Search IAC there's a thread on it. Good Luck.
