1986 Question?...help

1986 Question?...help

talking to a guy about an 86' vert and he states the wheels are gold and they were a indy 500 flag car addition?

any ideas what this means?

All 86 verts are pace cars, and came with the decal kit in the car (I believe the dealer instaled them if asked to). They had the standard clearcoated 16" wheels with the non painted centers.

86 wheels did not come stock chromed, looks as if someone installed the chrome ones on the picture above.

The below is what they looked like.

Gold was an option, emblems, wheels...............Not my cup of tea!

I looked in the Black Book and there is no mention of gold wheels being an option.....does anyone know where to find out how many folks selected gold in 1986 if it is an option?
