Hey guys! Sorry for the late response for all of your replies, we've been without power since I started this thread, so I'll respond to them now!
CorvetteRonW: The look she gave me is very similar to the one in my avatar. I told her that you said it was okay and she said when CorvetteRon gives birth to our child, then he can name it whatever the hell he wants.

Thanks for the replies guys! The RedHead loves reading the responses! See you all later, I have to go rub her feet now, er, I mean detail the car! Yeah, that's it!
If I could be so bold as to offer parenting advice, I would say this:
Read to your kids. A lot. They will grow up learning to read, and be able to express their feelings well through their advanced vocabulary. They will also sharpen their imaginations.
If you say you're gonna do something, do it. Whether reward or punishment. Stand by what you say. They'll respect you for it, and know you mean business if you have to scold them, and know they can count on you to praise them when they do well.

Enjoy being a papa! Congrats to the wifey too!
Thank you CSS! I will take all of the advice I can get. My mom read to me as a boy and gave me a love for the written word and I have every intention of passing on that great gift!

Great to hear from you Tim! How is your young family doing? If you ever get back to the east coast, we'll have to set a play date\mod party! (Holy crap, I cannot believe I just said "play date"!) I raised my sister and my nieice. Dirty diapers don't frighten me! I don't like it, but I ain't skerrd!

Hey Dusty! I have the feeling that will be the case with me as well, but hey, it just makes the car hold it's value longer right?

(Sorry man, couldn't let the "new mod" header just slip away )
Congrats on the new addition
Thanks, and from one knight to another, the "install" was pretty straight forward , but I think maintenance may be a real beotch at times for the next twenty years or so, but I'm up for it!

prepare for a 180* turn in most anything you've known at home. if getting those magnaflow's was ever an issue in any way, now just wait until the mere cost of buying parts for maintenance will be like. women have a tendency/urge of installing the "guilt mod", if not direct conflict over the matter. you will not be modding your corvette any more, so if dreams of a heads & cam package were ever in your head, i would suggest killing off that fantasy asap.
you're a good soul, so i only wish you the best. i hope the rug doesn't get pulled out from under you, say, by a year from now.
good luck dude!

Brad, I think you missed your calling as marriage counselor!
I'm pretty much prepared for that, but I made it quite clear when we were dating, that I would own a Corvette, I would never give it up (unless it is of my own choosing) and maintaining it would be quite high. That's why we have separate accounts.
I love my car, but I love my kid even more (wow, it's not even here yet). And if I have to sacrifice spark plug money to feed and clothe him or her, so be it.
Thanks Brad! Not jumping down your throat or anything, got nothin' but love for you brotha!

Hey Mike, then you've got it all in order, ostensibly speaking of course I did not know you made it so clear at the beginning, nonetheless I'm sure you also realize that the "rules" change for women when they get married (as you've already found out, no doubt) -- and when children come into the picture ALL bets are off. any previous agreements become null & void
But you're a cool dude, like I said I think you have a good soul about you. You'll do fine!
Oh, and if you're coming to the corvette show in Carlisle, PA next month, I'd like to buy you a beer for the celebration
ps....I'd make a horrible marriage counselor, my one & only ever marriage failed 15 years ago after blondie and I went to a marriage counselor and they hid the fact that she was banging some other dude during the 4 months of appointments we had, and 3 months previous to that

Mike, the part that Hot Rod said about all bets off are usually true,However you will be rewarded a thousand fold if you jump in there and get just involved in every aspect of your childs life just like the RED HEAD will do and YOU will have a little buddy that thinks Daddy is God and Superman all rolled up in one,and when they get old enough you will also be the coolest dad around cause you got a Vette,I'm just 45,and mine are all grown up and gone. It's the lonliest feeling,Cherish all of the moments, even the hard ones and bad ones,Every memory will be precious when you get older and that's all you have.CONGRATULATION you lucky son of a gun.
