heat wrap/ tape?

What sort of heat protection is available to protect hoses and wires from damage. There is some kind of silver fiber type hose protector on a hose at the rear top of my engine (89 coupe) that is falling apart. I want to replace it with something but would like to avoid disconnecting the hose if possible.

Can you take a picture? I don't remember anything like that on mine. The only thing that comes to mind is the wrap around the EGR tube on the passenger side. Summit has many heat products.

The only foil I've seen is wrapping the pipe going to the cat.
I replaced with 3M high temp. silver tape avalible at OSH.It's been on for some time now,with no problem.
