Thumping noise?

Thumping noise?

My Collector's Edition has 155,000 miles. I am getting an extremely
annoying 'thumbing' noise when one side of car goes over a bump at slow speeds. Sounds like the exhaust hitting the underside, but my mechanic says it is not touching.

Any ideas? Suspension? Rear calipers?

Check your sway bar bushings. Mine were gone on the rear driver side at 120K. Not just gone worn out, there was no rubber left at all.

Thumpin noise? I did'n hear no thumpin noise? Did you hear any thumpin noise? I did'n think so..............

I had the mysterious thumping noise a long time ago on my 94 after installing a cat-back borla exhaust. Drove me nuts. Turns out is was a little loose and after hitting a bump or road hump it would hit the floorboard. Not good. Forsed a high temp plastic shim between the two, made sure everything was tightened and have not heard it in ten years.
