Here's another Jackson Vette story...A few years ago a friend and I painted my '88 in his dad's garage. We found that using twice the reducer (they tell you not) in both the color coat and the clear coat made the stuff go on just like glass. In the garage there was little to no real ventalation (the AQMD would have had a fit) it was like a cloud in there for hours and you could not see more than four feet across the garage. Anyway, what I think happened in there is that the fumes from this excess reducer got to all the exposed rubber on the car and in the next few years I ended up replacing just about every piece of rubber on the car due to a strange hardening type of rot. It also peeled the tint off the rear window! Anybody have any similar experiences? What the hell, for a nice paint job (it came out very nice!) I'd do it again!

I sure hope you were both wearing the proper respirators.
