Can anyone tell me how to test my fuel injectors on my car. It is a 93 with 130000 miles. Dont know if this is the problem with my car but wanna check everything out before I have to take it to a shop to get it fixed.
- get an ohm meter and test the resistance across each one to test if the internal coils are bad.
- get a fuel pressure gauge and see if the pressure drops off fast to test for leaking injector(s)
- i've heard of people putting glass jars under them to see the spray but never attempted that one myself.
You need an ohm meter. Each injector should draw approx 15-16 ohm with the car running. Anything less than 14 can be an issue. With 130K on the car it would be time to work on them. You can buy new ones (#22's) or have yours redone. If you elect to get yours redone it would cost approx 120-150.00. There are many good places to get the injectors serviced, but I hear alot of good things about www.cruzinperformance.com They have a great website, especially the photographs of rebuilding and testing the injectors.
My point exactly, if the search function was used, answers would come fast and addl info for learning.... I get grief from newbees when i say to search, but so goes life.... prime example
