today i got an issue with the dash light when the car is moving the dasg light are closing and reopen or all the light oepning at the same time
dod someobe ever had the same issue?
probably i have a bad wire conection issue but it's kinda difficult to find this wire because under the cluster this is loaded with all kind of wire
The dash cluster has two circuit boards that plug together with a single row of pins on the front board to a socket on the rear board. The end pin closest to the center of the circuit board carries the backlight lamp current and this current flowing through connection resistance due to an age relaxed spring on the rear board socket, gets so hot it unsolders the pin on the front board and the backlighting becomes intermittent or totally off. Resoldering the pin will not fix this problem. I soldered a short piece of insulated hookup wire from the pin to the socket about 6 years ago on my 87 and I haven't had a problem since.
