Would like to get some other feedback on repairing the "glass" top. I have read that a mixture of fiberglass resin, fiber glass dust, and super glue is the best way to repair the crack. Then sand & buff, anyone ever attemted to repair one of these tops? Really hate to spend money on a new one given the price when it is just the corner that is damaged. ALso anyone know a good way to "repolish" the whole top?
I have a 93 coupe and would also be interested in a way to refinish or repolish the top.
I've been told that you can 1500 grit wet sand it, and then use mirror glaze on high speed buffer, but I (like you) am trying to get others opinions on this before I try....
I'd start checking vendors (Melrose Tops is one people here on the forum recommend) for a replacement top. Most places will give you a core charge on your old top. When it comes to the acrylic top, replace it, don't "repair" it.

Why? For a minor repair, it's better that 3-700.00 for a new one
Besides, the new one is going to break or haze in the long run again.
You can't replace an acrylic one for a solid one ?
thanx
Oh I have a solid one, just would like the option to have a glass top without the $$....A buddy of mine gave it to me because it was damaged on one corner and I posted to see if any one new of how to fix the crack, it is only about 2" on one of the corners.
