Default I am so smart!

Well some may debate that, however I think I came up with a good idea.
I made a new folder in my email, and named it "Corvette"
Now when I see something on here, or anywhere for that matter pertaining to my Corvette, I copy and paste it into an email, and email it to myself. Down the road when I need information about a particular method or service or repair, It will be in my Corvette email folder.
Actually I even made a new folder in "My Documents" and have begun storing information, and Corvette related pdf. files there.

....when i got my 88, the previous owner had ALL the receipts and the window sticker...so, i took a 3 ring binder and some see-through document covers and placed all the receipts in it chronologically that he had and have been adding to it ever since...

...i then created a few word doc's (3). i then entered ALL the info about the repairs, costs, mileages at that time from the FIRST owner...

....on the 2nd word doc, i only entered ONLY the repairs, cost, mileages that I performed....

....and on the 3rd, it was the total culmination of BOTH....not only do i have this info on my hard drive and on a separate disc off of my computer, i also have it on a flash drive i carry on my key-chain so that if i need a part, i have immediate access to it...........may be a lot of work at first but, it is great reference info should the need arise.....

lets see:
2 - 4" binders with receipts
3 - 4" binders with Techincal papers (forum/web/ect)
2 - 2" binders on special upgrades (HSR/Engine Rebuild)
2 - 3" binders on Performance & Tuning (chip burns and program diags)
1 - 2" binder on Part Pricing & Sub parts with pricing
1 - 250gb drive for just Vette stuff.
I know, i'm a sick person... but i love it...

Why not use what the forum has to offer by subscribing to the thread instead of going to the lengths of emailing it seperately to yourself. I've got a huge arsenal of cool threads in my subscription.

Ahem! I am smart!

Ahem! I am smart!

.....huh?...whom are you talking to?....if it is me, why would i e-mail a receipt that wouldn't be on the forum in the first place or notes about a repair i did to myself?...i record part numbers and cross reference info that is not listed on the forum.....also, one does not need to subscribe to anything just to read information......lastly, i have all the information on MY car on my hard drive, separate disc, and flash drive in case i travel......

EDIT; looked at a pre-existing thread and determined that the post was for someone else!...

.."c-dan22", if you copy the links to a word doc, you'd have to have a computer on line to retrieve the info.......can i make a suggestion?..copy and past the text in that thread to a word doc and you could have it all the time in print or on a cd rom for future reference...
