I had a cracked plug that needed to be changed. I swapped it out for a new one this past weekend. Besides the crack how does the coloring/wear look. I just got a new camera for my birthday and I figured I'd put it to good use. Some are a little blurry because I forget to set it for the macro shots. I can get some better ones if needed. Thanks for looking.
I think it looks normal to lean, but in your pics... you see the area of the photo that is real sharp? Thats how far you need to be from the plug to get a good sharp photo. Geesh... bad photographers these days.
I think it needs never seize on the threads
The other ? did you run it hard and then shut it off and pull the plugs?
Are heating up the engine before you shut it down and then removing the plugs .My screen is a bit out of focuse must be the glasses.
For a better reading you need to shoot a pic streight down the electrode.
Thanks for the advice and the link. I always use a good bit of antisieze when doing the plugs. That may be what the brown is. The plugs came out pretty easy. The car was sitting for a couple of hours before I pulled the plugs. I know, I forgot to set it to macro mode. I think I have some others that came out well with the digital SLR. I picked up a 4gb card for $30 off the internet. It can hold 1400 pics (at 6mp) or 1 hr and 20 minutes of video and sound (TV qlty) on one card. I will be able to post more videos in the future.
If it ran long with the cracked plug (there should have been a hellva miss) then reading the plugs doesn't tell us a whole lot about the engine. If you want to read them, put fresh plugs in and make a WOT run or two, then read them. Also it is important to take a nice picture of the ground strap, there is a light/dark line on it that you can read for timing.
Reading them now can tell us what the computer was doing about the cracked plug I guess. Is the bottom plug real dark? It looks totally different then the other pix.
