I have a dumb question, i was thinking about getting headers for my '85 and was wondering if WHEN i have the funds to drop in a new motor if there would be any issues with any kind of header i buy now....my '85 is basically stock, but since i put on the bigger wheels and tires(315x17) out back i seem to have lost the sotp fun it had befor....the vett already has a cat back with muffler elim's so i basically want to free up some more breathing..
Basically i am worried that if i put on headers now, that i will need to buy new headers when i get a new engine(probly a 383). anything i need to worry about, i hate to toss away money now if i need to get something new later....Thanks as always
You could get 1 3/4" headers now witch would be a little big but would be great for the 383. 1 5/8" would be preferred for stock. Use the 1 3/4" and you will be set for both engines. If your car still has all three cats, deleting the front two and putting a high flow unit in the middle would be great.
