Am in the process of working on my 76 and after looking at the current wiring mess I'm contemplating just replacing the whole disater with a new harness. Any thoughts on how big of a PIA this would be and any recommentations about brands to look it? I'm looking at KISS brand now but any thoughts or opinions would be extremely helpful.
I would post in the C3 section you will get a much better response.
I do have experience with C3s though. I've rewired the entire dash in one. Not hard at all but you do need to remove the center console, dash and a lot of trim. Not hard just time consuming. If you are not very familiar with electrical work I would go with a good used OE harness from a '76. It will be plug and play. Aftermarket harnesses can be a real pain if you're not familiar or comfortable with electrical work. Many times connectors need to be installed/changed and a lot of times there will be a fair number of wires you won't need, or will need to add. It can all add up to a fair bit of confusion.
