Open Lid Followup.... Does Auto trans effect the difference??
I thought it funny that the guys here who opened their lids with auto trannys didn't see much difference yet us 6 spd manuals did. What I find funny is a friend of mine who reads alot of stuff on boosting hp told me he heard that with a auto tranny you really do not reap any benefits to opening the lid due to the auto shifting to the next gear before the full advantage of the open lid is taken.. With the open lid I can wind the rpms up higher then before with lots more power there which I didn't have before. Not sure if I explained it quite right. But I did find it interesting that he told me this before I posted my open lid topic, then when I started to read the follow ups to my posting on the open lid and saw that the guys with Autos replies it struck me...

My auto shifts right as the tach hits the end so I can't imagine that it is shifting too early. Maybe a difference between L98 and LT1 cars.

I didn't post in the other since everyone seemed to be expounding on the HP increase. None here, sorry. It looks good and sounds nice but I seriously don't think it makes enough difference to feel SOTP. :nonod:
