Default Please Help!!!!!

Ok I recently just purchased the Chiltons Corvette Repair manual, and I also have the Haynes manual to, now heres the problem I ran the codes for my car and it showed me a H72. I looked it up in the Haynes manual and the chiltons manual and it says it is GEAR SELECTOR SWITCH CIRCUIT.I looked all through both manuals and I cant seem to find where this gear selector switch circuit is??? It dont say where it is located at??? Does anyone know where it would be located Im having a very hard time with this I looked over the chiltons manual like 3 times and cant seem to find nothing. If anyone knows anything about this please help thanks alot Tony

Beats me Tony, but I'd start in your console. Start taking that thing apart or just narrow your search down in that part of the book. Sucker's gotta be in there somewhere. Good luck.

DTC 72 is Vehicle speed sensor loss.

The VSS supplies re: axel ratios & converts that info into a squqre wave??, whatever that is, for use by the speedo, cruise control & central control module.

If it's a history code & not current, (you shud check again to see if it's current, ) it may have cleared when the ignition was cycled. Get an FSM...it saves a ton of frustration.

Hope this helps?

The FSM will pay for itself with the first problem. Todays cars are fairly easy to fix with the FSM, almost impossible without. They run $50 - $125 0n EBAY, and even if you take your car to a mechanic will pay for itself. That Chiltons manual should come on a roll.

Hey Tony, the FSM is not a part, it a factory service manual. It tells mucho about the way these cars operate and where everything is.
