Originals were PBR. I think there is a fair chance youve got bigger issues though besides just the pad choice.

...thanks for the reply...the only thing that has not been messed with is the abs and as i said before, you know about the booster....you also know about my replaced parts...

Yeah its hard to say without seeing them, but mine are not much different to yours, and i can tell you they do stop the car quite well. They didnt when i first got the car, but the PBR pads made a big improvement, no idea what the others i took off there were.

Is there anyway to test for certain if it's bad?

If so, how difficult are these things to put in? Are the firewall bolts hard to get to? How many are there?

If you're the one who drives this car regularly and your booster goes out, you'll definately notice an increase in brake pedal effort.
