2021 C4 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist
Default What's the difference with carpet?

I have a chance to buy a new 4pc rear carpet set. Unfortunately the seller doesn't know what year C4 it was bought for.

The product name is Auto Custom Carpets Inc. Prod #2 - 00135

The years for ordering carpet packs seems to split around 88 or 89.Does anyone know what the difference is between the various years as split by Ecklers web catalogue?

Any help will be appreciated.

the fitment. Later years had different nap, too.

All I can suggest is to google that manufacturer and get to doing some hard core (10 minutes worth) of research.

Auto Custom Carpets is the main "non-OEM" producer of Vette carpets. I understand their quality is very good. (They are recommended for everyone except NCRS-seeking owners). I could name a couple of retailers who sell their carpet to demonstrate their proliferation in the market. But, I'll just say they make good carpet. This is what I would have bought (if I hadn't run across a special one-time offer on OEM carpetl).

I suspect the difference you're seeing is with the door jam (aka door sill) pieces. Earlier vettes used an all-vinyl piece in the threshold of the doors. Later C4s used a carpeted one. Door sill pieces are included in carpet sets -- but would only be necessary for the later years.

Default big difference

There is a HUGE difference in carpet sets available out there for your car. I bought mine a year ago,and I'm sorry I can't remember the maker, but they were pure junk. Very poor fitting, cheap material, the Corvette foot pad was supposed to be leather, but its plastic, and has already fallen off, no form at all,did not fit anywhere!...Be very careful.. .Someone here will recommend a GOOD maker..Good luck
