Default Beware!

I was on Taber's website this morning looking at seats for my 1996. It said they had two different sets including foam, one leather like and one leather. Prices on website were $750 leather like adn 1190 for Leather on new foams.

I called to see if they had any decent used ones. I was told no and that to buy a new set was $1329 and didnt even mention whether it was Leather or not. Probably because I am a woman.

ANyway, beware if buying from this site that you get the "Real" prices not overinflated ones on the phone.

Hi again- If you want your seats done right, DO NOT buy any of the leather kits from those overpriced vendors. Find a good auto ulpholsterer in your area and have them MAKE you new seats. Trust me on this from experience, it is the only way to get what you pay for when it comes to car seats. Most of the kits offered do not fit right and need to be re-worked to some degree. The auto interior guy I use WILL NOT even install pre-made because they never fit right and it's just easier and much cleaner to make them himself! You can also then get really nice (better grade than factory) leather too!

How does my local upholsterer get new foams though? My bottom foams are shot!

clay69 is correct. Any good auto interior guy will also make new inserts, probably using better quality (denser) foam than was in the originals...

Can I ask an approximate cost? More or less then ordering from some of these online places like Al Knoch ($1000+ for a set on new foams)

Chatsworth Auto Upholstery on Devonshire. Not cheap, but neither is the work. First class!
