It would help if you'd fill out your profile so we know what year C4 you've got. But that notwithstanding, I've got that very setup in my 96 LT4 and no problems. I'm not sure about the earlier C4s. There have been quite a few threads on this. Take a look in the archives...
Plan to put H4 100/80 bulb in hella upgrade lens. Question is will my wiring take this, or should I go with less output. Thank you.
The wiring will handle it but in my case the problem was the 3 prong plug going to the light. IT would begin to deteriorate after a while and had to be replaced. Mine is an 88 and pretty much most GM cars from that era have the same plug so I simply put on a new one.
My advice would be to get the Sylvania bulbs. They're more then bright enough.

Ditto.
I have 100/80's in Hella lenses: far superior to the SilverStar sealed beams I tried, which were a slight improvement over the stock lights themselves.
No problems so far with wiring or switches, but I seldom drive the Vette at night and almost never am able to use high beams....

My sentiment exactly, excellent beam pattern and great illumination. The wiring and electrical load seems to tolerate it without a hitch.
I just put the Hella lenses in my 94 and what a huge difference. I went with thte 100/80 extreme white bulbs and saved the ones it came with for spares if need be.
I am so much happier with being able to see where I'm going.
The old light were yellow and dull the new ones are bright an white
I also found my drivers side light was turned way in to the right so I focused it better and it also helped
I've been running Hella's with 100/80 bulbs for about 8 - 9 years at least with no problems at all. I just love the amount of light over stock lighting.
I just got the euro housings a little while back.
I put in some 60/55 Silverstars.
While it was a HUGGEE improvement over the stock lights, I am still not completely happy with the brightness but didn't know where to find the 100W bulbs you guys all seem to be running
Does anyone want to trade the silverstars for brighter lights? I am stuck with my $40ish investment until they die I guess. I'd put them in the wife's car but I just replaced hers last year also

I went to my Car Quest dealer and they were able to get them for me, Wagner Lighting products BP1210/H4 100/80, They were about $10 each.

Maybe you could dump them on eBay.
I'm running these bulbs:
MTEC Super White H4
Bulb Type: H4
Model: MT-447
Wattage (draw): 100/90
Wattage (output): 170/160
Color: Super White
Color Temp: 4750K
I've not had any issues with the wiring, headlight switch or anything since I (2+years) and added the high wattage MTEC bulbs.
Why are the silverstars so darned expensive then when you can get "brighter" lights for 1/2 the price? I am sure there is a quality difference, but if a light lasts more than a year, then who cares about quality.
Thanks for the links/info guys. I am definitely going to look into the brighter ones.

Are you comparing the whole light assemble (lens/bulb) silverstars to JUST the H4 bulbs? The E spec reflector/housing is what is expensive and needed for the H4 bulbs.
Got mine all hooked up and rewired.
My friend said these are the brightest lights he's ever seen!
It is like daylight in front of the car, and very wide pattern, with a distinct upper horizontal cutoff pattern.
It really lights up reflectors and signs on the side and far ahead that I probably wouldn't notice or not as well. I seldom use my brights, and can't see using these unless on some empty very dark road with no other traffic. I am only using the 85/80 bulbs, but they are high efficacy bulbs(2400/1750 lumens), and put out as much or more than 100/90's but with a better lighting pattern.
My bad, 95 runs great no problems at 75k. Have in the wings a MSD opti spark and water pump, as said here on this most noble forum, if it its not broken leave well alone. Thank you all, fantastic input will do the lights. Mike.
