Hey friends, today is the first time that I've had to drive in the rain,I was dreading it,a couple of weeks I treated the windshield with rainx and forgot about it,well I'm glad I did that.I was running between 60-65 mph in a hard rain and never once had to turn the wipers on,It was amazing! even when the big rigs splashed me it didn't hinder my vision, the rain just balled up and went straight back,I will use this always.I was thinking that I wish I had this when I had Cataracts(spelling ?)good stuff.
I agree. I haven't purchased any in a long time, but I got caught in a little spritzer last week, and it seems my windshield has some on it already. I'll have to go get me a new bottle. Good times!

I put RainX on my dad's 93 once and it wreaked havoc on the windshield wipers when they were needed at slower speeds. My windshield acts like it has Rainx but I've never applied any and I've had it for almost 5 years now I do use RainX windshield washer fluid though so maybe that helps.

It works great while you are using it but will leave a film you can not get off then you have to use it cause wipers no longer work like they should at that point.
I think our wipers are pretty useless sometimes anyway, so I tend to just leave them off unless its a downpour, rainx does a good job with the rake we have.
I bought a bottle for the first time a few months back. I used it once on both our cars. It was amazing stuff! The C4's windshield just beaded off so fast at highway speeds i didnt need the wipers in a moderate rain one afternoon!!! I was amazed.
alas, I've not washed either car or put rainx back in in the past 2 months
Works good, yes. Putting it on sucks, YES !
I have tried it several times over the years and always have an issue getting the haze off when I try to buff it out??? Takes tons of buffing and effort. Am I doing it wrong?

I usually take a damp rag after it has hazed and wipe the window down then a newspaper dry to buff it.
I agree Rain-X does work great. The only problem I have with it is that it seems to produce more of a glare from the street lights and headlights at night.

I work it on once, let it dry a bit, then use another rag to buff it out.

Protectants like Son-of-a-Gun and Armor-All work just as well to bead up rainwater, are easier to apply and don't have the haziness.
I just apply it to my wipers and let the wipers spread it around the glass....it seems to "migrate" over the entire windshield all by itself.
I apply it every wash job. (roughly once a week on DD)
I use micro weave cloth to remove the haze, be sure to let it dry completely.
I have never had a film form on my windshield, however I wash the DD weekly and do a thorough job of cleaning the windshield with glass cleaner, then apply the RX.

I tried it years ago and ended up with the haze on my windshield. I thought it was crap and decided I would never use it again. It was so long ago that I can't remember what I may have done wrong. I'm thinking I may not have buffed it enough or used too much. I remember it was in the colder weather and the defrost made it haze up the entire windshield with a film. I recently tried it again this weekend after about six years. I used the wipes that come in the 25 pack. I was extremely amazed at how well it worked. Maybe I just did it right this time. I know the wipes seem to have very little Rain-x on them. I wonder if some are applying it too thick. Like the others said I drove through the rain last night and relay did not need the wipers on. I am still skeptical as to how well it will work this winter but so far I am very impressed with it's performance. I may also try the Rain-X washer fluid and inside glass cleaner.
