is anyone using fuddle torque converters..if so how are they? I am looking at putting in a new tc on my 95 lt1 and am thinking of going with a 2800 rpm...any opinions or thoughts is that to much to little for a dd w/minor mods? I am looking at adding some 3.54 gears to go along with it. If not fuddle what are ya'll running any recommendations?
Although they are a sponsor, they do not participate in the c4 tech section, that I am aware of. I only recall 1 forum member that I know(here in c4 land) that bought one. His user name is Sliding. Maybe he will offer an opinion.
Most forum members that I know do seem to like 2800-3000 rpm stall converters. My L-98 combo seems to like a wee bit less, but LT1 guys do like them in the 2800-3000 area.
I know where you can get a killer converter with excellent support for alot less. Shoot me a pm and I'll let you know where I got mine. I couldn't be happier
I'm running a high performance street/strip 3200 stall Fuddle Racing Torque Converter. John was easy to deal with, I told him my set-up and he provided me with lots of info to read and answered all my "stupid" questions. I complete the online questionaire one evening, received a response the next day-fast shipping - great customer service.... No problems and I really enjoy it.
Like I noted in another thread, different folks - different strokes--even the stall you select. I remember reading that PeteK builds a mean converter
Converter guys do tend to listen well and answer alot of questions. They must do so to ensure a happy customer. Like cam selection, it is a very important part of the overall performance package of the car.
Also, the output of the converter is directly related to the power and torque going into them. Vehicle weight, gearing , and cam duration/ cubic inches etc are all important variables in custom bulding the correct unit, the first time they weld it up.
