Re: Removing Shifter ****? (Shylor)
Pull it all the way back into the 1 positon. Look on the front facing the radio and you should see what looks like a staple. Pry it out and the **** should just pull up.
Take two coins and pop the center push down button straight up and out of the shiftter. Then look down inside and you will see a round snap right. Pop it off and then pull up on the **** and it will come right off.
Don't really know, But I had to take mine off a few weeks ago when I did a deep cleaning of the car. I just got mine about 3 months ago and I look the entire inside, outside to clean under the seats and console. Found about $3.00 in change, a ring, french fries, tooth picks and assorted screws and junk. Now I know the inside of the car is clean.
For Sure. I have the AT and did it about 3 weeks ago. If you have a catalog from Ecklers or one of the other parts companies you will see the replacement parts and it all makes sense. The push down button is only held in place by friction. Take two quarters and gently pry up on the sides and it will come right out. It might take a little pressure due to rust, but it will pop out.
