Save The Wave
mine had them on it when i bought it and i took them off,i thought it looked like something grandpa would do to his buick,i know they work well and keep the rocks from chipping but i just didnt like them,i am gonna put some 11 wheels on the back with 315s so i may have to putem back on and was also wandering about painting them to
I had wondered what those would look like on a Ruby .... very nice!
I think that it might depend on your cars color. The darker cars .... reds, ruby, black, polo green ... could probably where them much better than some of the lighter cars. I have them on my Titan truck and there's nothing "old man" about them. In fact I saw a truck like mine without them and it looked sort of naked. Just my .02 worth.
They have clear ones that are almost invisable unless you are right at them. I believe midamerica sells them. I would get the clear ones than paint them.
I like mine. Besides, I'm getting too old to lay on my back and clean tar, mud, sand, and unidentifiable crud cemented onto the lower sides of the body work. I've also had to repair two gouges caused by something being thrown by the tires. The Altecs also a little more style than "flaps". My 0.02539 cents worth.
I had them on my 91 vert and currently have them on both my 94 vert and 02 coupe, also on my 2 blazers and pickup. My driveway is paved, but access to the paved road is about 0.6 miles from the driveway on mountain granite, mostly loose rock/gravel. So I need the splash guards. They really work for me. All my vehicles are red, so I did not paint them nor purchase the color editions. A friend about 5 miles from me with the identical 02 torch red coupe to mine also lives on mountain granite roads, and put the torch red editions on his - looks great.
Well I would put mud flaps on my vette...right after I put a baby on board sticker on it and those stainless window guards that looks like an awning. Then I have to get a tennis ball thingy for my antenna and a large air freshner to hang on my mirror....ooops maybe I can get large fuzzy dice that smell to hang on the moirror....THEN I'll put on mud flaps. What are you guys thinkin'?
Thanks for the compliment, but I do agree, it is very clean. It's also for sale. I think the guards, not mud flaps, look good. However, it seems to be a mixed bag, some hate them, some love them. I like the black color on the car, it breaks up the solid color around the wheels. Just my opinion.
