keeping engine clean
I just cleaned my engine compartment this weekend and it is already dirty again, dust/grass/ anything else the big hoover under the air dam will pick up 
is there some way to put a screen or something under the air dam to help eliminate this?

Your radiator area or the whole engine? THere is a piece thats called an air deflector that keeps a lot of dust out. Its a flimsy flat plastic piece that fits between the very front of the shroud where it meets the hood and covers that 2-ish foot long gap. not sure which years had them. My 89 didnt, the 90 does. I take mine out during the summer just to get a little more cool air in there, havent noticed any excess dirt.

Basically, it's a problem with the damned hoover dam.
