Decode VINs automatically!
Check out the VIN Decode feature at the C3 Vette Registry!
(Yes, it works for C4s!)
Just plug in the Year and VIN and it will give you a break out of the VIN and tell you what it all means.
Plus, if the VIN is for a 1981 or later Corvette, it will use the Check Digit to tell you if the VIN is valid or not.
You can find it at:

Doesn't the Corvette Blackbook give you the same information ?

Now it works for 1953-present!
Check it out!
And actually, the Black Book does not give you the same info. The black book does not have the exact decoding infomation. It only mentions certain positions for certain years.
But in any case, you'd have to do a lot of back and forth with any book that has the decoding information, becuase its a manual process that way.
The beauty of this feature online is that you just type in the VIN, and it does the work for you.

After all that typing I get a message that I must join! What a waste of my time, sorry.
