Found my intermittent door lock problem
Rock the switch the other way and it would power back, but return full forward as soon as I let go. Then the breaker tripped, still stuck full forward of coarse. It's then I noticed the door locks didn't work either. First thought was the switch. After dinner I pulled the switch loose from the seat...by then everything was working again. As I pulled the switch, smoke started to rise from under the seat
Pulled the seat cushion back as far as I could on that side and saw where wires were rubbing on sharp metal and had melted together. Stuck a cd case between the wires and the metal till I could disconnect the battery. I was afraid I was going to have a Carbur-Q for a minute. Cut and spliced some wires, installed some shielding, cut a couple pieces of fuel line in half and placed over the sharp edges under the seat, and all is well again I hope. Gist of the story is to check the wires under the seat if you have some funky electrical things going on. On mine, there were places where the wires were rubbing hard on metal.

Especially those around the HOT regions of the compartment.
The GM insulation has a sneaky way of shrinking and leaving exposed wires to short out.
