Default Nylock nuts???

I got my C4 rear lowering bolts.

I guess I wasn't expecting them to have the cotter pin holes given the individual characteristics needed to lower everyones car.

But, what's the deal with these nuts? They are locked in? Any special procedures to get them locked?

Just run them up to the desired height, the nylon insert will hold the nut in place. Try to keep from moving the nut too much up or down, the more it is used the weaker the hold the nylon insert will have.

When I worked for Westinghouse the spec for Nylock nuts was for 8 uses. If it was to be installed and removed more than 8 times a metal lock washer was used.

For a cheap piece of mind I actually bought 2 standard type nuts. I installed the standard nuts and got the height adjusted where I wanted
(it can take a few times and as stated it isn't recommened to adjusted the nylon lock nuts too many times) then I ran the lock nuts on after the standard nut and they act as a jam nut as well as a lock nut this way.

With the amount of tension that is on this nylock nut I doubt it will back off unless it had been run up and down over a hundred times.
I actually like the nylocks much better than the cotter pin. It gives you a much greater height range.
