Has anyone ever dyno'd their car after getting a Pcm for less tune? I called them and they claim that a tune on a stock lt1 automatic could gain 15 - 20 hp. Is this true? Do you give up anything in this tradeoff? Drivability? I have a 94 with 1.6rr, k and n filter and magnaflows. Maybe I can gain more. What do you think? Also since my car is an auto, maybe it may shift better and feel faster.
I saw a dyno for a stock 93 A4 that gained 17hp. I have a PCMforless tune on my 95 M6 and I have enjoyed it. No drop in gas mileage and I could feel some gains in power. Hope to dyno my car Friday.
i just came back from the drag strip, from the last time i ran,to today, my only changes was the PCM tune and i put larger ported mas ends on .the tune was worth the money,it changes gears much quicker now.my et went from a 13.59 @101mph to 13.45 @104.3 mph.the weather was about the same both days so i did pick up some power..

My 86 is mostly stock under the hood aside from a few small bolt-ons. The biggest change is a Borla catback and Magnaflow cat. This car ran a best 13.8 quarter mile last year. When the new 86's hit the street, Car & Driver magazine best run was 14.5,
I have a PCMforless tune that really makes that difference.
Oh yeah, did I say the engine has 140K on it?
I picked up over a second and over 10 mph in the quater mile from a PCMFORLESS Tune. I had a bad tune after doing heads and cam on my 93 and ran a slew of 13.8's at 100mph. With just the tune, I ran a slew of 12.80's at 110mph and a best of 12.79 at 111mph.
PCMFORLESS = GOD when it comes to tuning these cars!

I don't have numbers but Alvin's chip helped SOTP "feel" of my 93 and it does idle smoother. Of course I'm sure you know...with the 94 you'll have to send your ECM for them to tune as opposed to them sending you a chip. As I understand it...they have a process all worked out to reduce your down time. Either way I would recommend them.

You could also purchase a cable and have them email it to you and upload it to the PCM with a laptop. This is how I did my 95. This setup should also allow you to use TTS for diagnostics and datalogging.
I had them burn me a new chip... best money ever spent!
The car came alive after that, many of his hesitations ,idle issues, etc all went away too. It's worth it to have a proper tune done.
