I am interested in purchasing a 2003-2004 Corvette convertible. As a novice at this, would one purchase a car with the Z51 suspension or the Magnetic Select suspension? I plan on normal highway driving only. whats the difference between the two?

Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately, you'll need to re-post this under the "C5" section as C4's were only made from '84-'96
Short answer to your question, though:
There were three suspension options for convertibles in those years; base, magnetic ride, and Z51.
Z51 is more of a high-performance suspension. It's a bit stiffer than the standard or magnetic suspensions (heavier springs, shocks, and sway bars). The base suspension and magnetic suspensions are both similar in terms of springs and sway bars, and more suited to 'normal' driving like you're talking about. The big difference is that the magnitic suspension adjusts the firmness of the shocks automatically depending on the conditions of the road. It's very nice, but expensive.
