Default Rotor Question

I was wondering what size the front brake rotors should be on a '90. Its not a Z if it makes a difference. The guy at Checker told me they sell em in 2 sizes for the front and one in the back. I dunno if he was full of ****, but he said there's either a 12 or a 13.

Code J55 on your RPO list is for the 13" front, stock size is 12" front. The rears are all the same.

I ended up putting 13" GS brakes on the front of mine. They work great.

I remember they mentioned J55 when I asked. Would it specify that in the VIN or somewhere on the actual vehicle what the option was? BTW, aminnich my problem with the squeak in the rear from the other post turned out to be brakes afterall. Dunno if its a good thing as it probably cost more.... Pads were practically gone and the rotors needed replacement. They said they would've thought to check the u joints first too but luckily they were fine. Thanks for all your help though man.

So I take it it doesn't matter, I can put on which ever one? I assume its a must to have 13s in pairs then at the least. IE both in the front or both in the rear. Did you have to replace all 4 with 13s or you just did the front?

Glad I was able to help and that you got it fixed. I think the RPO code list on a 90 model is in the glove compartment, they seem to move it around some from year to year. The VIN # would not show which brake option you have.

Just the fronts. To change to 13" the only thing you really need is the rotors and the caliper brackets. J55 calipers or the GS calipers will work. The GS calipers say Corvette on them. That looks cool through ZR-1 wheels.
