APPRAISALS...
If you have ever had an appraisal done on your car, have you found it to be helpful in the event of an accident or theft?
I am going to have an appraisal completed on my car soon, for insurance purposes, and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with their value/merit.
EDIT for added question: Also, what is an average cost for a quality appraisal? Thanks.

I had mine done at Tony's. There wasn't a cost for it - unless you count the $2500 of work I had done at the time. ;) It was a requirement for my declared value insurance policy. I do think that he does charge a nominal fee if you bring the car in for just that though... in my case he had the car for a week anyways. :jester

My local guy around here charges $45 dollars for the apprasial and it will hold up in court should the insurance not repay in full...or anything else. This is the type you need and he/she should have a license to prove it! Mine does! :yesnod:
