Summers shot to $hit in most areas of the country. My desert environment is getting its first true rainy day in 5 months today. The thermometer is dropping, but I want to keep the top down .
I also ride motorcycles (mostly, actually) and I have an electric vest that plugs into the battery or electrical system.
It keeps me very warm on the bike, even if the temp is in the high 30's. I won't ride if its any colder than that for fear of ice .
I was thinking about rigging it up to plug into the CE's cigarette lighter and wearing it in the car.
Has anyone done this? Any thoughts? FWIW, it draws 30 watts.
Thats true, but I just can't stand it. I need the wind on the old bald spot. I get claustrophobic with the top up
As long as the current draw on the cig lighter doesn't overload the circuit, why not plug in the vest? If you do blow the fuse don't just put in a bigger fuse, the wires can cause a serious fire. If it works keep the top down, vest on, heater on high, and be prepared to replace every electrical part that you push to the limit. Top up, windows down, and drive fast!!
