Default Headlight problem

One headlight on my 89' started to act up. It will open and close but seems to struggle, mostly with opening. I can hear the headlight motor engage but it keeps running for a short time even after the light has closed. Any advice?

I did mine today on the ZR1. Took the entire assembly off, and put it on the counter. Had the laptop with this link running,

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/zrjuan/headlight.html

I got my bushings at my local ACE HARDWARE !!!! Here is the 2 bushings that will work. First is #10 Screw, SKU 008236052794, 1/2 inch id, hole is .194 id, 1/2 inch length. Hillman # 58038-E. Cost is 25cents. Second one that will work is 1/2 inch Screw. SKU 008236052800, 1/2 inch od, .257 id hole, 1/2 inch length, Hillman # 58039-F, cost is 29 cents each. If you have any problems locating them, shoot me a PM. Just take your time, you will need a long handle torx to get the screws out.

I just did my 1990. Bought the bushings at midwestcorvette. There are complete instructions on how to do the job at www.corvettemagazine.com look under technical aritcles, I believe that is the heading, anyway then look under c4 and you will find the article complete with pictures.
